Do you love the ocean? Are you ready to be part of a team to strengthen, support, and promote global organizations dedicated to preserving ocean environments around the world? The Ocean Foundation, a DC-based non-profit international community foundation is looking for a Program Associate to join our team!

 

This position will be a member of our Programs and Consulting team and will support operations and fundraising for multiple core TOF programs, including the Blue Resilience Initiative, SeaGrass Grow, Keep Loreto Magical, CariMar, TOF-Mexico, and project agreements related to the Pew Charitable Trusts. This position is based in Washington, D.C., however, until normal business operations resume, per COVID-19 precautions, this position may work remotely.

 

This position includes responsibilities related to general operations, proposal writing and editing, financial management, communications, internal monitoring and evaluation, and the improvement of knowledge management systems. This position will support efforts to foster greater diversity, equity, and inclusion in all programmatic operations.

 


Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Public or Business Administration, Sustainability, Environmental Management or studies, Ecology, Biology, or a demonstrably relevant field with preference given to an ocean and/or climate emphasis
  • Advanced/Graduate degree in Public or Business Administration, Sustainability, Environmental Management or studies, Ecology, Biology, or a demonstrably relevant field with preference given to an ocean and/or climate emphasis (Plus)
  • 1-3 years of work experience in a related position
  • +4 years of work experience in a related position (Plus)
  • Experience with certified carbon accounting standards and/or methodologies (Plus)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Google products 
  • Experience with Salesforce and Asana (Plus)
  • Multilingual verbal and written skills in English and Spanish (Plus)
